Companion congregations pray for each other, grow in understanding of fellowship in mutual faith, rejoice and weep together, share gifts with one another, and
communicate with each other.
The ELCM is a singing church, known throughout Malawi for the quality and depth of its singing.
Choirs are a key reason the ELCM is one of the fastest growing Lutheran churches in Africa. In
April 2006, the Cathedral Choir from Malawi performed at Good Shepherd and had our church rocking with songs of praise and thanksgiving!
We continue our companionship with Chitipa Central Parish by remembering them in prayer in Sunday worship; holding a Malawi Sunday; supporting the Pastors’ Academy, feeding stations, and drought relief; and helping to raise money to put roofs on churches and to build wells.
